Courts to Give Some Offenders a Break

The Gwinnett County State Courtsannounced they're giving some with outstanding warrants a break. From May 1st to June 30th, those with an outstanding misdemeanor probation warrant for failure to pay fines and costs or failure to comply with other probation conditions may be eligible to have their bench warrant recalled. They would not subject to arrest on the outstanding warrant.

There is some fine print however. For example, all fines and fees must be paid in full and all other conditions of probation must be fulfilled.

In a release, the court said people will not be arrested as long as they begin reporting and complete the terms of their terms of probation by June 30th. Those who only need to pay fines and fees will have their probation terminated once the court receives payment.
