News From the Republican National Convention

Georgia Republican Delegate Rep. Bruce Williamson, of Monroe, is one of the 76 Georgia delegates at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.

Braving the weather, Georgia’s 76 delegates are gathered in Tampa, Fla., for the Republican National Convention. Among those delegates is Rep. Bruce Williamson, of Monroe, Ga. of District 111 in the Georgia House of Representatives.

One of the first events he and the other Georgia delegates participated in was the Georgia GOP breakfast. He sent Monroe Patch a photograph and a snippet of the speech given to the delegates by Georgia’s Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle.

“It’s time to walk the talk on fiscal conservatism! Mitt can lead us,” Williamson reported that Cagle told Georgia's delegates.

The breakfast took place Monday morning in the Audubon Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt in Tampa Bay.

Williamson was first elected to the Georgia General Assembly to begin serving in 2011. He was just reelected, unopposed, in the July 31 Republican Primary and will serve another two-term year term, starting in January 2013.
