Gwinnett Hosting Forum on Transportation Sales Tax

Session will be held Monday evening in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett residents who want to offer input on a draft list of projects to be funded by the Transportation SPLOST in 2012 will have a chance Monday. The Atlanta Regional Commission will host a transportation roundtable from 5-7 p.m. at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center.

This forum is one of 12 being held around the region as the Roundtable solicits feedback from the public on the more than $6 billion in transportation investments, the ARC said in a news release.

Attendees can view a presentation, speak with transportation experts and complete a survey. The presentation and survey also will be available online by visiting www.atlantaregionalroundtable.com and can be seen on TVGwinnett, the county's cable TV access channel.

“Roundtable members have already heard from more than 200,000 citizens and have worked very hard to develop a list of transportation investments that will give people across metro Atlanta more travel options and reduce congestion,” Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson, chairman of the Roundtable, said in the ARC news release. “Now we need to hear from residents one more time so we can be sure the investments on the list are the ones that best meet the needs of the region.”
