Gwinnett Offering Emergency Response Training

Classes begin in late January.

Gwinnett County residents can get Community Emergency Response Team training from county officials, beginning this month.

According to the Gwinnett County Connection newsletter, participants will learn basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.

Classes begin Jan. 28, and will be held on Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., for eight sessions.

The session will conclude with a course review and disaster simulation on Saturday, March 15, from 8 a.m. to noon.

The course is open to all Gwinnett residents 18 and older who pass a background check by the Gwinnett Police Department.

For more information or to sign up, email ema@gwinnettcounty.com. The class is limited to 25 participants.
