Berkeley Lake Annexes 15 Properties

A subdivision, formerly included in the borders of the new city of Peachtree Corners, is now part of the City of Berkeley Lake.

The recently approved the request by 15 nearby homeowners to be annexed into the city. These properties were originally to be part of the new city of Peachtree Corners.

According to Berkeley Lake officials the homeowners filed petitions with the city to be annexed which was approved by Berkeley Lake on Jan. 1, 2012.

An announcement on the city's website states: "As of January 1, 2012, two homes on Bush Road and the 13 homes comprising the 'Habersham on the River' subdivision are part of the City of Berkeley Lake. Owners recently filed petitions with the city to be annexed and council approved the request."

According to the official minutes dated Dec. 15, 2011, a request to "rezone 15 properties served by Bush Road and Habersham Lane" was passed by Berkeley Lake's city council.
