More Lane Closures Planned for I-85 This Week

Georgia DOT continues work on HOV lanes.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has advised that work along Interstate 85 this week will require closure of some HOV lanes in Gwinnett County.

Daytime work along the median wall will close the lane in some locations in both directions. Work hours northbound are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and southbound work hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The locations are:

Monday, April 11: From Sugarloaf Parkway to north of Old Peachtree Road.

Tuesday, April 12: From south of Shallowford Road to Chamblee Tucker Road and a second work zone from Boggs Road to Sugarloaf Parkway.

Wednesday, April 13: From Steve Reynolds Boulevard to north of Pleasant Hill Road.

Thursday, April 14: From Indian Trail Road to Steve Reynolds Boulevard.

Friday, April 15: From Jimmy Carter Boulevard to Indian Trail Road.

Also, work will require overnight lane closures northbound and southbound.  Northbound closures will be 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Southbound closures will be 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The locations:

Tuesday, April 12: Along the median wall from SR 317/Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road to Old Peachtree Road.

Wednesday, April 13: For work along the median wall from SR 317/Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road for one mile north to Exit 112.
