Nash Campaign Contributions Top $30,000

Newest contributors include consulting firms.

Charlotte Nash, who is up for re-election this year as chairman of the Gwinnett Board of Commissioners, has listed new campaign donations that push her total to $33,076.

The latest disclosure in state records includes some government consulting and lobbying firms.

Buford business executive Terri Jondahl, a former chairman of the Gwinnett Chamber, is among the contributors ($250).

Also contributing are the following organizations:

CH2M Hill ($2,000): This company describes itself as a global company that does consulting as well as design-build projects. "From chemical plants in Buenos Aires to super cleanrooms in Japan, from nuclear cleanup in Colorado to wastewater treatment plants in New Zealand, CH2M HILL's project experience and the markets it serves are as diverse as the world itself," its website says.

Veolia Transportation ($500): This company manages over 200 transportation contracts for cities, transit authorities and airports, according to its website.

Georgia Better Government Fund ($1,000): This is the lobbying group for the state's apartment industry.

Peachtree Government Affairs ($500): This is a lobbying firm. According to its website,  it works with clients "to develop a strategic plan that will position them to have the best possible opportunity to obtain business with state and local governments."

O'Brien & Gere ($1,000): This company describes itself as delivering engineering and project delivery solutions. It has an office in Atlanta, as well as several in New York state. Among its recent projects is helping Oswego County (N.Y.) with an energy efficiency plan.

Nash was elected in 2011 to fill the unexpired chairman term. She has not officially announced her candidacy for re-election, however. No one else has announced intentions to seek the BOC chairman post.
