Peachtree Corners Hires New Communications Coordinator

Former PC Patch Editor Judy Putnam will direct "new communications methods" for the city.

Peachtree Corners announced Thursday, March 13, the hiring of a new staff member who will be responsible implementing the city’s communications initiative.

Judy Putnam, former editor of Peachtree Corners Patch, has already started work at City Hall.

The City of Peachtree Corners Mayor Mike Mason announced today that Judy Putnam has been hired by the city to implement its communications initiative. In this role she will be responsible for putting into practice new communications methods, such as the use of social media and newsletters. She will continue to work with and enhance existing communications outlets, including improvements to the city’s current website.

“The City is pleased to have a person of Judy’s caliber and experience to work with us as we advance our communications efforts with residents and businesses,” said Mayor Mike Mason. “She will be responsible for working with the City Council on enhancing the City’s communication plan, including media relations, website and social media, publications and events and will serve as the primary media contact.”

Judy has spent the past three years reporting on the City of Peachtree Corners as the editor for Patch covering the community’s cityhood efforts, government, business, school and other news. She has over 15 years of experience in writing and producing information for both online and print media. She also has worked as Marketing Director for The Georgia Trail, a nine-hole golf course located in Gwinnett County.

“I’m delighted to join the City of Peachtree Corners and look forward to working with the Mayor and City Council in strengthening communications with Peachtree Corners citizens and the business community,” she said.
