Recycle Expired Prescription Drugs Safely

The Drug Enforcement Agency is offering a safe way to discard old medication on Saturday, April 28.

Do you have expired prescription drugs in your medicine cabinet? The Drug Enforcement Agency is hosting a prescription drug take back program Saturday nationwide from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This service is free and anonymous. People may drop off any prescription drugs, no questions asked.

The DEA is trying to get old, unused prescription medications out of homes to prevent diversion, misuse and abuse.

“Prescription drug abuse is a major epidemic across the country and DEA is committed to reducing the potential for misuse by providing a safe and secure method for Americans to clean out their medicine cabinets and properly dispose of unwanted, unneeded, or expired medications,” said DEA Administrator Michele M. Leonhart in a release.
