New Restaurants, Retail Development Planned Near Forum

A developer has submitted a proposal for retail, restaurants and office space to be built on property across the street from The Forum Shopping Center on S.R. 141.

Preliminary plans have been submitted to the City of Peachtree Corners.

A portion of the tract of land to be developed fronts S.R. 141, adjacent to Piedmont Bank, the proposed usage calls for space for restaurants, retail space and possibly another bank. This acreage is currently zoned for commercial use (C-2).

And behind Piedmont Bank, fronting Medlock Bridge Road, is proposed multi-level retail and office space. This property is currently zoned for apartments and would need to be rezoned for commercial use.

"We've had interest from a steak house, an Italian grill and possibly a fast food chicken restaurant," said Mitch Peevy of Mill Creek Consulting, who is working with a Peachtree Corners-based developer, Peachtree Parkway Holdings, LLC.

Peevy said the appearance of the new buildings would be similar to the Piedmont Bank building and similar to the look of the Forum.

"We want to develop the property into something in keeping with the area," said Peevy.

The plans are expected to be presented to the City of Peachtree Corners Planning Commission in early January.

Another proposed development on the corner of S.R. 141 and Peachtree Corners Circle, called Peachtree Corners Place, is also in the planning stages. Patch will have a report on that development in the next newsletter.
