Some City Elections Headed for Runoffs

Mayor Mike Mason, who ran unopposed, and council-post winners Phil Sadd and Jay Lowe take first steps toward forming city's inaugural government.

Three members of Peachtree Corners' inaugural city council are in place after Tuesday's elections, but four other spots appear headed for runoffs.

Mayor Mike Mason, who ran unopposed, and council candidates Phil Sadd (Post 1) and Jay Lowe (Post 2) were the winners in the historic vote.

Sadd garnered 70 percent (529 votes) of the vote to beat runner-up Joe Sawyer, who had 25.3 percent (191). Lowe had a tighter time beating Stephen Peet. Lowe had 1,397 votes (51.9 percent), compared to Peet with 1,273 (47.3).

Mason finished with 5,169 votes (94 percent), against 309 write-in votes.

None of the candidates in the four other council races drew the 50 percent, plus one, needed to win. Those races are expected to be decided in runoffs next month.

Totals do not include write-in votes

Post 1 (three of three precincts reporting): Phil Sadd (529, 70%); Joe Sawyer (191, 25.3%); Nneka Chukwu (32, 4.2%).

Post 2 (nine of nine precincts): Jay Lowe (1,397, 51.9%); Stephen Peet (1,273, 47.3%).

Post 3 (six of six precincts): Alex Wright (1,129, 46.3%); David Proud (696, 28.5%); Scott Ehrlich (601, 24.6%).

Post 4 (13 of 13 precincts): Jeanne Aulbach (2,423, 43.7%); Robert Byars (1,617, 29.2%); Gloria Gore Rucks (895, 16.1%); Robert Indech (571, 10.3%).

Post 5 (13 of 13 precincts): Lorri Christopher (2,068, 37.3%); Gray Terry (1,945, 35.1%); Brent Johnson (1,496, 27%).

Post 6: (13 of 13 precincts): Weare Gratwick (2,268, 40%); Brian Stickney (1,939, 34.1%); David Leader (728, 12.8%); Raymond Cobb (703, 12.4%).

Note: Mike Mason ran unopposed for mayor.

Results are unofficial. They will be certified on Monday March 12 at 2 p.m.
