Sunday Sales to Start One Month Early

Peachtree Corners businesses able to start selling alcohol on Sundays beginning May 6.

Residents in Peachtree Corners will be able to buy beer, wine and alcohol on Sundays beginning May 6.

During Tuesday's Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners meeting, fees were established for businesses to sell beer, wine and alcohol on Sundays.

According to District 2 Commissioner Lynette Howard, the fees were set at $250 per year for businesses selling beer and wine with an additional $250 fee for businesses to sell liquor. Businesses selling beer, wine and alcohol would pay an annual fee of $500.

Since the BOC was able to reach an agreement on the fees, businesses will be able to begin selling alcohol on Sundays starting next month instead of June.

Gwinnett County residents in March. The voters in the new city of Peachtree Corners will not be required to vote again on whether to allow businesses that sell wine, beer and liquor on Sundays.
