Voters Head to the Polls Next Tuesday, Nov. 8

Here's help with questions about early and absentee voting, poll locations and more.

1. The upcoming elections are just eight days away. residents will decide whether to approve Sunday alcohol sales, and Peachtree Corners folks have a big decision to make - whether or not to approve the referendum on the ballot which will decide if this large community of 38,000 is to become the county's newest city.

2. Also on the ballot - and of equal import, is the decision whether or not the 1-cent E-SPLOST should be extended for another five years. GCPS has earmarked these funds to use for technology upgrades in the classrooms, building repairs, adding air-conditioning to gyms and school cafeterias, for classroom additions and five new schools.

3. If you will not be available to cast your vote on Nov. 8, you may cast a ballot in person at the Gwinnett County Voter Registration and Elections office now through Friday, Nov. 4 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. There will be no satellite voting locations for the November 8 special election. For more information, call 678-226-7210.

5. If you're unsure where to vote click here, and you'll be directed to the Georgia Secretary of State page. Here you'll be able to locate the polling place for your precinct. Each voter is assigned to a specific polling location. The location is based on the voter's residence address.
