Walmart to Open in Peachtree Corners Next Summer

Construction is underway on a "Neighborhood Market" on the site of the former Supremo Market on Winters Chapel Road.

There is good news for the Peachtree Corners residents who live along Winters Chapel Road - a new place to grocery shop is planned for the site where the old Supremo market once stood.

A new Walmart Neighborhood Market is being constructed on the site and expected to open next June, according to Walmart representative Glen Wilkins.

The store will sell the usual grocery store items, said Wilkins including "milk, eggs, bread, fresh meat. There will fresh fruit and vegetables. And there will also be a pharmacy in the new store," he said.

The market will be 42,000 square feet and employ approximately 75-100 people said Wilkins, who added that the store will not be developed into a super center.

The old Supremo store, which had been vacated for over a year, has been torn down. Wilkins said construction on the new Walmart market should begin in December.
