Updates on Walmart, Peachtree Reserve, Noble Village Projects

Three new developments are in various stages of completion in Peachtree Corners. Here are photos and progress reports.

Three projects have broken ground in Peachtree Corners over the past six months, a new grocery store, a gated subdivision and a senior living center.

All are in various stages of completion, here is a look at each one with projected completion dates.

1. Walmart Neighborhood Market: The 36,000 square-foot grocery store on Winters Chapel Road is expected to be open before the end of 2013 and will include a drive-thru pharmacy. Located on the former site of the old Supremo Market, Walmart expects to hire approximately 90 employees for its new store, the majority will be full time. To apply, visit www.careers.walmart.com.

“Construction on our new Neighborhood Market is going well, and we’re looking forward to opening in late summer or early fall," said Bill Wertz, spokesman for Walmart. "This is a format that has been very popular in Georgia and throughout the nation..."

2. Peachtree Reserve: A 16-home subdivision located on 10 acres on Bush Road is currently under construction. The developer broke ground in December 2012 and initially hoped to have the first model home ready by March but a wet winter delayed construction said Matt Rhule with Re/Max Alliance who is marketing the new homes.

"The curbs have been poured and we're about to lay the gravel for the streets," said Rhule. "The house plans have been approved by the city and we expect to have permits for two model homes in two weeks."

Rhule said the homes will be approximately 4,000 square feet on approximately 1/3 acre lots. The builder expects to start construction on the first home "within a month," said Rhule. He said he expects the homes to be priced in the $600,000 range.

3. Noble Village at Spalding: The city's first senior living center is expected to open in the fall of 2013. There will be 19 homes for sale with the remaining residences for lease.

Patch attempted to get an update on the development but our phone call and email was not returned by deadline for this story.
