Remarks: Person in charge not able to locate or communicate an employee health policy. Cold-held potentially hazardous foods not maintained below 41F. Hot-held potentially hazardous foods not maintained above 135F. Facility stores pizzas at room temperature (racks on wall); however, the time the first pizza is prepared is not documented as stated on board. Unapproved pesticide in the kitchen stored on ice machine. Bulk products removed from their original packages, and not labeled with the common name of the food. Thermometer for measuring the internal temperature of thin-massed foods not provided (battery dead).  Sign at buffet not posted that reminds customers to use a clean plate when reserving from buffet. Employee wearing nail polish not wearing gloves. Health score posted behind the service counter. The most current inspection report shall be prominently displayed in public view at all times. Open top cooler and glass door cooler not maintaining food at 41 deg. F or less. Utensils for self-service items longer than the widest opening of the container.

Remarks: The original certified food safety manager certificate not posted. Three drinks found on prep counters. Two in unapproved containers. No paper towels in men's restroom. Employees wearing multiple rings and jewelry on their wrists. Except for a plain ring such as a wedding band, while preparing food, food employees may not wear jewelry including medical information jewelry on their arms and hands. Employees with nails painted (long nails) not wearing gloves while working with food. Health score of a 99 posted not most recent health score. Exterior of food containers with old residue, glue, label build up.

Remarks: NO SANITIZER WAS BEING DISPENSED IN THE WAREWASHING MACHINE WHILE THE WARE WAS BEING RUN THROUGH IT. MOLD IS PRESENT INSIDE THE ICE MACHINE ICE BIN. THE AIR CONDITIONER FOR THE KITCHEN WAS NOT WORKING. REAR DOOR WAS PROPPED OPEN. A FLY WAS PRESENT INSIDE THE KITCHEN.

Remarks: Several foods were observed in the facility that had prepared dates that exceeded the seven day hold time. The facility does not have a permit on display.  The facility does not have the most recent food service inspection report posted. Several food containers stored as clean were observed with old date labels affixed on the exterior surface. There is no covered receptacle in the women's rest room. An employee purse was on the prep table that was actively in use for preparing fruit.

Grouchy’s N.Y. Deli & Bagels

5275 Peachtree Parkway

Remarks:  An open bottle of Deer Park water and a small bowl and spoon with food debris was found stored amongst food stored behind the deli display coolers. A single-service cup was stored on a shelf above a prep table. The handwashing sink in the men's restroom and the sink outside of the restroom area was equipped with hand sanitizer and no hand soap. The handwashing sink in the warewashing area did not have paper towels equipped.  Several foods in the deli display cooler were observed with temperatures 49°F and above. The deli display cooler was observed with an internal air temperature of 46°F. The facility uses quat sanitizer in the four-compartment sink and in their wet wiping cloth containers; however, the facility does not have the appropriate test strips to determine the sanitizer concentration. Containers stored as clean were observed with old date labels on the exterior surface.
