Doing The Right Thing

Why Doing The Right Thing Is Important To Peachtree Corners

Today, I opened a door for a blind woman.  Walking out of the hospital, I saw her using her cane to navigate towards the doors leading outside, which were closed at the time.  Seeing her potentially having difficulty exiting through those doors, I informed her that I would get the door for her.  After opening the door and escorting her through, I received a smile and a "Thank you" and we parted ways.

This was not done because of self-satisfaction; I did this because it was the right thing to do.  I believe that being responsible and doing good towards your fellow man (or woman in this case) makes this world a little better in the long run.  I may be an old Eagle Scout, but I still believe in the saying "On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty, to God and my country."  With so many things that cause stress and pain in the world, being able to help someone with such a simple gesture as opening a door goes a long way.

I am running to be your Peachtree Corners City Council Representative for Post 4 At-Large because I want to do the right thing for you, my neighbor.  Speaking in the community, blogging on The Patch, posting on Facebook or Twitter, I always reference back to my belief in an ethical and responsible government.  This is because we can not afford to have representatives that forget who they are representing.  Most importantly, dedication towards ensuring a better future for our families must be conducted in an unwavering manner.  As your city council representative, I will do the right thing for you and your families with every decision that I make and every vote that is voted on.  We must get it right the first time and every time following.

If elected, I will work so that Peachtree Corners remains a safe and respectable city.  Our concerns should be about our families, our homes, our jobs, our livelihoods and the future of our surroundings.  Paul Duke had a vision of what Peachtree Corners could potentially be.  To honor this vision, I will work diligently to assure the residents of Peachtree Corners that they have a city council that lives up to its potential.  As your City Council Representative for Post 4 At-Large, I will honor the past, work in the present, and build for the future.  For our new city, we deserve leadership that is willing to open the door to its citizens and do what is right for all that live here.
