Official Announcement From Robert Byars

The Official Announcement By Robert Byars for the Peachtree Corners City Council

Greetings,

I am happy to officially announce that on Tuesday, November 29th, I submitted my qualification paperwork to run for City Council of Peachtree Corners.  I walked into the Gwinnett County Voter Registration and Elections Office with the belief that Peachtree Corners, the newest city in Gwinnett in 55 years, deserves leadership that is truly committed to the community and to the future of the area.   It is for this reason that I am running.  I want to represent the city as your neighbor.  I want to guarantee our shared protection by referendum.  I seek to unite the city through open communication and shared information.  I will pursue new initiatives to increase home property values, attract new families and businesses, support our aging population, maintain a balanced budget and fight against wasteful spending.

Most importantly, I will work for you.  Raising a 3 year old here in Peachtree Corners has made me even more focused on what the future will bring to our city.  If elected, I will adhere to the city charter and work with you, my neighbors, to make Peachtree Corners the crown jewel of Gwinnett.  I will help keep our streets and neighborhoods clean through code enforcement and I will be a vocal supporter of the city’s needs when negotiating a service delivery plan with the county.  I will also help deliver a trash delivery service plan that is affordable and effective.

This race is not about black or white, Republican or Democrat, or where you live geographically in the area.  This race is about community, our neighborhoods, our homes, and our families.  As your city council representative, all of you are my neighbors, so all will be represented fairly and equally.  Together we can build a strong community while maintaining the "live, work, play" mantra that our area has come to be known for.  I believe in a participatory government, so you will matter in every decision made.  Whether you have raised your family here for over 20 years, or a new family that has recently moved into the area, I will take you and your well-being into consideration for every single one of my decisions.

Together, we will forge a path that will lay the groundwork for a prosperous future.  Localizing our government has given us a better opportunity to have our voices heard, and it will be your voice that I will always consider in my tenure as your city council representative.
