U.S. News and World Report has released this year's ranking for best high schools nationally and statewide, both Duluth and Norcross High Schools are near the top in state rankings.
ranked No. 10 in the state and No. 592 nationally, while took the No. 12 in state rankings and No. 667 for the country.
According to the report, nearly 22,000 public high schools in 49 states and the District of Columbia were evaluated. Schools were awarded gold, silver, or bronze medals based on state proficiency standards, how well they prepare students for college, and other factors.
Both Duluth and Norcross were awarded silver medals. The scores were based on student to teacher ratios, college readiness and proficiency in math and English.
Facts and Stats:
Duluth HS, 2359 enrolled, 74% minority, 135 full time teachers.
Norcross HS, 2959 enrolled, 73% minority, 175 full time teachers.
