GCPS Plans College Fair for Students with Disabilities

Parents and students have an opportunity to meet with college representatives on Sat., Oct. 13.

Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) invites students with special needs and their parents or guardians to explore the opportunities that await them as they transition from their K-12 academic careers.

Students and parents can find out more about these opportunities during the “GCPS College Fair for Students with Disabilities” on Saturday, October 13, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the school system’s Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Rd. NW in Suwanee.

During the event, families can meet with college representatives by visiting college booths from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. College admissions and disability representatives from four-year universities, two-year colleges, and technical colleges will be on hand to provide students and their families with information about how they can meet students’ special needs.

GCPS co-sponsors the event along with the Area II Gwinnett County Council of PTAs (the Parent and Teacher Association unit with membership from schools in the Collins Hill, Duluth, Lanier, Mountain View, Norcross, North Gwinnett, and Peachtree Ridge Clusters).
