Gwinnett County public schools begin a new year today.
Elementary schools Peachtree, Simpson and Berkeley Lake along with Pinckneyville Middle and Norcrosss High School welcomes back students today. Traffic is expected to be heavier this morning than during the vacation months.
Ivy Preparatory Academy - an all-girls school located in Peachtree Corners has joined the GCPS system as one of Gwinnett County's charter schools. Its students have another week before classes officially begin.
