Norcross High School Has a New Principal

William Bishop, former assistant principal for Duluth HS, has been named the Blue Devil's new principal.

 

In its monthly meeting Thursday night Gwinnett County Schools announced that William Bishop is the new principal at .

He replaces Jonathan Patterson, who recently was promoted to area superintendent. .

Bishop most recently served as the assistant principal at . His  background is in music, computer science and education. He began his teaching career as a music instructor and teaching assistant at Georgia Tech. 

Bishop was a band director at a high school in Cobb County from 2000 to 2002, then a visiting professor and band director at Georgia Tech from 2002 to 2005.

Bishop is no stranger to Norcross High. He taught math at the local high school from 2005 to 2007, before becoming the assistant principal at Duluth High School.

Norcross High School's new principal hold the following degrees:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science – Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education – University of South Carolina
  • Master’s degree in Music Education – University of South Carolina
  • Specialist’s degree in Educational Administration and Policy – University of Georgia
  • Educational Leadership Certification – University of Georgia

Bishop is also a 2010 graduate of GCPS’ Quality-Plus Leader Academy.
