Meadowcreek High School principal Ladeadrick "Bob" Jackson died yesterday afternoon.

He fell ill while working at the school, according to Gwinnett Schools spokesperson Jorge Quintana. The school called 911 and he was taken to a local hospital, where he later passed away, according to GCPS. Nothing else is known about the cause of his death.

"He made his mark as a teacher, assistant principal and principal, and those of us who were fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him can only wish for more educators like Bob Jackson," Wilbanks said, praising Jackson for his professionalism and humility.

Jackson had been an educator for 23 years, with the last six years of his service at Meadowcreek. He helped to elevate the status of the school, hitting the AYP benchmark to avoid corrective action and, later, getting national attention from the Secretary of Education.
