Peachtree Elementary Lady Panthers Soccer Team, Our Students of the Week

Girls team made up of players aged 12 and under are undefeated and heading to state tournament next week.

Peachtree Elementary School Lady Panthers Soccer U12 Team has enjoyed an undefeated season this spring, and are currently gearing up for the State of Georgia Rec Tournament to be held the weekend of May 14-15 in Conyers, GA.

“Our team is very excited about participating in this tournament.  We are looking forward to competing with some teams that we would not otherwise experience in playing against,” said Avery Grant, the team's head coach.

“I have been blessed to work with such a great group of ladies who give it their all!  Their enthusiasm, team work and endurance are the result of their success. I am very proud of them!”

Peachtree Elementary School began their after-school programs six years ago when Avery Grant began the PAWS Club.  Since that time, the afterschool activities that the PAWS club enjoyed has dwindled down due to lack of funding.  The Lady Panthers Soccer Team was one of the few survivors of the PAWS Club.

Assistant Coach Sean Campbell is also excited about this years’ team. “These girls are so much fun to work with. With almost all of them playing organized soccer for the first time, it’s a pleasure to watch them grow and develop as players and as individual. Hopefully the girls are enjoying this opportunity as much as we are and will continue to play and enjoy soccer after the season is over. “
