Flavor of Georgia Contest Seeks Applicants

If you sell delicious food made with locally-sourced ingredients, this contest is right up your alley.

The University of Georgia Center for Agribusiness and Economic Development's "Flavor of Georgia" contest wants to showcase the best of the state's home-made products.

Food entrepreneurs are invited to apply for the contest by Feb. 7, 2014. Their entries will be judged on their flavor, a Georgia theme, commercial appeal, use of locally-sourced ingredients, unique qualities, and potential market volume.

Finalists will be invited to participate in the public tasting and judging on March 17-18, and will appear during celebrations marking Agricultural Awareness Day.

2013 winners included Flat Creek Farm & Dairy, Chocolate South, Atlanta Bee Company, and Chinese Southern Belle.
