Hart was chosen in the Competitive Balance Round A -- which amounts to a late first-round draft pick. And, when his name came up, friends were at the ready to congratulate him on Twitter:

"Congrats Josh! @JoshHartKnows Keep doing big man!"

My bestfriend @JoshHartKnows just got drafted ! I'm soooooo happy for him! #baltimoreorioles

Hart rounded out a good evening for Georgia players, and Gwinnett County high school players, in particular.

Clint Frazier, a player out of Loganville, was the No. 5 draft pick and selected by the Cleveland Indians; Austin Meadows, a player out of Grayson, was picked up at No. 9 by the Pirates.

Each were notable figures in his high school team's success over the past few years. For Hart, he helped lead the Parkview Panthers to state championship wins in 2011 and 2012.

Before the June 6 draft, Hart was ranked No. 54 among the Major League Baseball's top 100 prospects.

He has a big decision now -- sign with the Baltimore Orioles or head to Georgia Tech.
