Can Norcross High Hoops Keep State Title Streak Going?

Blue Devils are the defending champions in Class 6A basketball.

Norcross High School has a chance to pull off a sports three-peat for the second year in a row.

If the Blue Devils' girls and boys basketball teams can repeat their championships in the Georgia High School Association Class 6A tournament, it'll give the school its second straight year of winning basketball and football state championships.

Last year, Norcross' three-peat was believed to be the first time ever in the large-school classification. Doing it again will make a rare feat even rarer.

Norcross will host a first round double-header Saturday, Feb. 22 in the Class 6A boys and girls tournaments.

The girls play Walton at 4 p.m. The boys game against Milton will follow.

Norcross boys have won five titles in eight years; the girls three in the last four.

Also this weekend, Wesleyan's girls was scheduled to host Union County Friday night at 6 p.m. Wesleyan has won nine state championships in 10 years.
