Gwinnett Braves in First as Win Streak Continues

Louisville falls; five from Gwinnett named to IL All-Star team.

The Gwinnett Braves defeated the Louisville Bats 3-1 on Thursday night in Louisville for their sixth straight victory. Also, the G-Braves moved into first place in the International League South, a half-game ahead of Durham.

Pitcher Julio Teheran (9-1) allowed four hits in five innings to win for Gwinnett. Jeff Fiorentino, Jose Costanza and J.C. Boscan had two hits for the G-Braves.

The teams complete their four-game series Friday night in Louisville. The G-Braves return to Coolray Field on July 4 against the Durham Bulls.

Also, the G-Braves announced that five players have been named to the International League All-Star team: Teheran, DH Stefan Gartrell, 1B Mauro Gomez, OF Jose Costanza, and trainer Mike Graus. The IL All-Stars will take on the Pacific Coast League All-Stars in Salt Lake City on July 13.
