Gwinnett Braves Win Home Opener at Coolray Field

The minor league will follow their 2013 opener with a double-header Saturday.

Delaying their 2013 opener by one day did not hurt the Gwinnett Braves' performance. The team cruised past Charlotte, 5-4, on Friday (April 5) at Coolray Field.

The scheduled season opener Thursday evening was postponed due to rain and chilly temps.

Shortstop Tyler Pastornicky, who has some experience with the Atlanta Braves, went 4-for-4 with an RBI. Pitcher Sean Gilmartin went five innings, allowing one run on six hits.
