Are you ready for another round of picks?

Pinecrest Academy at : Wesleyan’s chances of winning the Region 5-A North title is more dependent on what other teams do than what the Wolves do. Wesleyan (5-2 overall, 3-1 in the region) is a game behind Holy Innocents’ with two subregion games remaining, and only an unexpected faltering by Holy Innocents’ can lift the Wolves to the top. That’s OK, however. The Wolves, with starting quarterback Will Anderson back from injury, have won three in a row and has the ability to advance once the playoffs begin. Pinecrest (2-6, 0-5) has lost five in a row, but the Paladins are learning valuable football lessons in a tough Class A region. And they’ve playing in close games, such as last week’s 21-18 loss to King’s Ridge. Wesleyan 32, Pinecrest 14.

at : The previous two weeks for the Norcross Blue Devils are best to be forgotten. Two big Region 7-AAAAA matchups resulted in two losses and dropped the talented Blue Devils (5-2, 2-2) from first place down to a three-way tie for third. Look ahead and not back, Blue Devil fans, because you still have a team that can create some havoc in the playoffs. The third seed is the most likely scenario for Norcross, which would have to finish with a better region record than North Gwinnett and Peachtree Ridge to finish above those teams in the standings. Meadowcreek looks destined to finish 0-10 again. Norcross 48, Meadowcreek 6.
