It's Softball Tournament Time in Peachtree Corners

Teams from Gwinnett, DeKalb, and Walton threw out the first pitch on Tuesday afternoon at Pinckneyville Park - it was the beginning of the annual tri-county girls softball tournament

Over 300 girls representing nearly 80 teams from Gwinnett and neighboring counties will fill the dugouts over the next few days at Pinckneyville Park for the annual Pre Tri-County Tournament which runs from June 4 - 9.

Tuesday was opening day, complete with the national anthum sung by two rising Norcross High School freshmen, Sapphire Sexton and Hallie Carton. Both girls just finished 8th grade at Pinckneyville Middle School in Peachtree Corners.

In addition to Gwinnet, teams from the surrounding counties of Barrow, Walton and DeKalb are competing for a spot in the Tri-County Tournament June 15-23 in Grayson.
