NHS Girls Basketball Players Nominated for McDonald's Game

Diamond DeShields and Shayla Cooper of Norcross High have a chance to play in the prestigious high school all-star game.

Nine high school basketball players from Gwinnett County, two from Norcross High, have been nominated to play in the annual McDonald's All-American all-star games later this year.

Diamond DeShields and Shayla Cooper of the Lady Blue Devils were both selected.

The other six players, who all play for girls teams, include: Lexie Brown and Peyton Whitted of North Gwinnett High; Kaela Davis and Kristina Nelson of Buford High; and Brookwood High's Courtney Gardner and Rebecca Walker.

Isaiah Williams from Buford High was nominated as a boys all-star.

The final rosters will be determined Feb. 14.

The McDonald's All-American games are scheduled for April 3 at the United Center in Chicago.
