Are you ready for another round of picks?

North Gwinnett at : If you have wanted to go to a high school football game this season, but just haven’t gotten around to it. THIS IS THE ONE TO ATTEND. The game of the year in Region 7-AAAAA matches two of the state’s hottest teams.

North Gwinnett (4-1) has won four in a row since a season-opening loss. The Blue Devils are undefeated at 5-0. Both teams are 2-0 in the region, have great coaching (Bob Sphire, North Gwinnett; Keith Maloof, Norcross), productive quarterbacks (Scott Hosch, North; Joseph Wilber, Norcross) and prolific offenses (North averages 39.8 points per game; Norcross 39).

Defense and big plays will be the difference in this one. The winner grabs an inside track to the region championship, but both are virtually assured of playing in the postseason. Norcross 35, North Gwinnett 34.

at King’s Ridge: This is the biggest game of the season for King’s Ridge (3-2), which can do a world of good for its playoff positioning with a win. It’s pretty big for Wesleyan, too., which needs to keep pace with the league leaders in Region 5-A North. The Wolves (4-2) got a shot in the arm with the return last week of quarterback Will Anderson  — the result was a 44-21 win over Pace Academy. Wesleyan 30, King’s Ridge 24.
