PGA Champions Tour Event Coming to Gwinnett in 2013

Pro golf's return to Sugarloaf Country Club will attract some of the great names in the sport.

Pro golf will return to Gwinnett in April 2013.

The PGA Champions Tour, which boasts some of the top names in pro golf, will hold a tournament at TPC Sugarloaf on April 15-21, 2013, it was announced Tuesday.

The Duluth course, designed by Greg Norman, will host the event through 2016, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Gwinnett Sports Commission, which is associated with the Gwinnett Convention & Visitors Bureau, will operate the 54-hole (three-round) tournament, with about 80 pros to participate.

Bernhard Langer, Mark Calcavecchia and Fred Couples are among the current money leaders on the Champions Tour, which is for golfers 50 and over.
