Coaches Pick Players of the Week

Eric Sunderman, Jack-of-all-trades made an impact for Wesleyan in many ways on '11. Blue Devils J.T. Colbert was the coaches offensive player selection.

Senior Eric Sunderman had an impact in many ways this season for the Wolves (7-3).

Sunderman caught passes, ran the ball for first downs and touchdowns, punted, kicked field goals and even filled in at quarterback.

Wesleyan’s player of the week, as nominated by coaches, Sunderman caught eight passes for 76 yards in last week’s 16-7 loss to Landmark Christian.

On the season, Sunderman scored five touchdowns, made 33 PATs and six field goals, and caught 38 passes for 565 yards and four touchdowns.

Will Anderson, quarterback: The sophomore completed 14 of 31 passes for 159 yards and a TD vs. Landmark.

Eric Gossett, defensive back/running back: The senior caught a 54-yard pass and was in on three tackles.

Zander Yost, wide receiver/defensive back: The senior had 30 rushing yards, three receptions for 17 yards and was in on 10 tackles.

Jamie Stark, linebacker: The senior was in on 16 tackles.

J.T. Tolbert: Was named by coaches as the team’s offensive player of the week, with three receptions for 71 yards in last week's win over Mountain View.

Martavius Edwards: Was named by coaches as the team’s defensive player of the week. Was in on 12 tackles, and had two tackles for losses, one caused fumble and returned an interception for a touchdown.

A.J. Hopkins: Was named by coaches as the team’s special teams player of the week.

Caleb Crum: Was named by coaches as the team’s scout offense player of the week.

Michael Marshall: Was named by coaches as the team’s scout defense player of the week.

Anthony Autry: Was in on three tackles, returned an interception for  touchdown and caught a 43-yard touchdown pass.

Tommy Tate: Was in on 15 tackles.

Levonte Cranford: Was in on 15 tackles and had three tackles for losses.

Kristopher Beauchamp: Was in on 12 tackles, and had four tackles for losses, one sack, one quarterback hurry and one caused fumble.

Isaiah Hinsley: Was in on 10 tackles and had two tackles for losses, one sack and one quarterback hurry.

Alvin Kamara: Rushed for 143 yards and two touchdown on 12 carries, giving him 1,133 and 15 touchdowns for the season.

Curtis Whisby: Rushed six times for 52 yards.

Joseph Wilbur: Completed 4 of 7 passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns.
