Ready to Play Some Golf?

A Peachtree Corners group is looking for additional members to join their spring golf league.

Spring is just around the corner, which means golf season is almost here. If you enjoy chasing a little ball round a golf course then you may be interested in joining a group of your Peachtree Corners neighbors to play in a golf league.

Riverfield resident, Michael Clary, who manages the Peachtree Corners Golf League, (a mixed league for both men and women) is looking for additional players on Monday afternoons starting in April. Here are the details:

What: Peachtree Corners Golf League - Season 2 Location: River Pines Golf Course
Schedule: Every Monday - April 16 through Aug. 27 (no play on Memorial Day)
Tee Times: 5:20 p.m. – 6:10 p.m.
Cost: Approx. $24/person each week for greens fees. Cart and range balls included
Membership: The league is open to anyone who loves to play golf.
Points/Scoring: Each week, two two-person teams will compete against each other in a handicapped, match play format played over nine holes. Individual and team cumulative scores will be recorded and prizes awarded at the end of the season.
All players will establish a “league” handicap on their first day of play (USGA handicaps will not be used). This league handicap will allow those who do not have an established USGA handicap and/or are new to the game to participate.
Handicaps will be recalculated after each round for use in the following weeks scoring.
Teams can be made up of 2, 3, 4 or more players. It is up to the “team” to determine which two individuals will be in the lineup and play each week. This allows those individuals who cannot commit to 19 weeks to still participate during the season but on a more limited basis and at a reduced cost.
Questions: If interested in playing, contact Riverfield resident Michael Clary at clarym@yahoo.comor 770-686-4701 no later than March 23.
Also feel free to contact Riverfield residents Bob Freeman (bfjr@mindspring.com) or John Watkins (jandjwatkins@gmail.com) for information on their experience last year as league members.
