Wednesday is National Signing Day for High School Football

Some 20 high school athletes are projected to sign scholarships.

More than 20 Gwinnett County high-schoolers are expected to sign football scholarships with major programs on National Signing Day, Feb. 6.

Based on commitments listed as of 2 p.m. Monday on Rivals.com, that’s a given fact.

But the biggest question of the recruiting season — especially with SEC football fans — still needs to be answered.

Gwinnett blue-chipper Alvin Kamara of Norcross won’t announce his decision until just before he sign a National Letter of Intent. Or, at least, that’s unless one of those college recruiting gurus pulls it out of him before Wednesday.

Kamara, rated 45th overall and No. 2 at running back in the country, soared up the recruiting charts while leading Norcross to the Class AAAAAA championship in the fall. Kamara is deciding between Georgia and Alabama, and while some observers thought Georgia was in the lead, it’s not so certain now

The Rivals prediction is unanimous for the reigning national champion Crimson Tide.

Kamara told UGASports.com it’s a matter of him figuring things out: "I'm trying to figure out what school has more qualities I'm looking for. Both visits had different things to offer, and I got what I needed out of the two."

All the speculation will end Wednesday.
