Wesleyan Boys First, Girls Second at State Cross Country

Wolves teams both have two place in top 10 at Class A meet in Carrollton.

Bradley Gossett finished fifth and Drew Sutton was sixth to lead to the boys Class A cross country championship Saturday at Carrollton High School.

The Wolves scored 67 points with its five highest finishers to finish ahead of First Presbyterian, which had 81 points.

Gossett finished the five-kilometer course in a time of 16 minutes, 40.62 seconds. Sutton was less than a second behind at 16:41.02. Other point-winners: Doug Mohme, 17th, 17:17.39; Takim Williams, 20th, 17:20.16; Timothy March, 22nd, 17:25.63.

The girls finished with 85 points, second to Landmark Christian with 80 points.

Caroline Reed led Wesleyan by finishing third in a tim eof 19:30.4. Taylor Panther was eighth in 20:12.65 and Jordan Zimmerman was 13th in 20:23.80.
