Wesleyan Edges Fellowship Christian 14-7

The Wolves win was especially sweet after last week's disappointing loss.

The Wesleyan Wolves prevailed at home in a defensive battle against the Fellowship Christian Friday night, beating the Paladins 14-7. It was a sweet victory after last week's 14-0 shut out loss to Holy Innocents'.

saved its best for last scoring the winning touchdown with just 8:46 left to play. Zander Yost ran the ball in for the TD and Eric Sunderman, who is filling in as quarterback for the injured Will Anderson, kicked the extra point.

The Wolves looked strong moving the ball down the field with running plays, but several pass plays resulted in turnovers.

Then with just a few minutes left in the second quarter, Sunderman's pass to Rodney Morris got the Wolves into the end zone for their first TD of the night. Sunderman kicked the extra point to tie the game 7-7.

It was a trick play on fourth down that set up the Wolves' winning TD when Sunderman handed the ball off to Conner Woerner, who ran in for a touchdown.

The TD was called back due to a holding penalty called against the Wolves but a few plays later Yost scored on a run. Sunderman's extra point was good and with just 8:46 left to play the Wolves were up 14-7. Fellowship Christian wasn't able to move the ball and the night ended with a win for Wesleyan.

Wesleyan is now 3-2 overall. The Wolves play Pace Academy next week.
