Wesleyan Grad Super Bowl Bound

Chad Hall, a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, is a 2005 graduate from the Peachtree Corners school.

How many of us can brag someone from our home town has played in the Super Bowl?

Well, you can now. Wesleyan School grad Chad Hall, now a San Francisco 49ers wide receiver, is on his way to Super Bowl 2013.

It's something of a dream come true for the 26-year-old who during his years playing for the Wolves was the only player in the country to lead his team in rushing and receiving during his senior year.

"It's unreal," Hall said in an interview with the Gwinnett Daily Post recently. "When you're 6 years old in the backyard, you're dreaming about playing in the Super Bowl. Now I get a chance to step on that field and soak up that atmosphere."

After high school, Hall attended Air Force Academy where he started out as a quarterback then moved to running back after his freshman year. During his senior year he also played wide receiver.

Hall served in the U.S. Air Force as second lieutenant from 2008-09. He went undrafted in the NFL, trying out for the Atlanta Falcons and the Buffalo Bills before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite leading the team in catches and receiving yards, Hall was cut from the Eagles roster in September 2011 and became a free agent.

Then came his big break signing on with the 49ers practice squad in November of 2012 then on Jan. 19, 2013 he was promoted to the active squad roster.

"I'm excited about it, you hear about it, watch on TV, you hear about media day," Hall said ... "It just doesn't happen to many people in their lifetime," he told the Gwinnett Daily Post.
