Wesleyan's Streak of Basketball Titles Ends in Class 2A Final

Wesleyan had won 6 straight titles before Friday's final in Macon.

Kendrick beat Wesleyan 69-58 in the Class 2A girls championship game in the Georgia High School Association basketball tournament Friday night in Macon.

The loss for the Lady Wolves ended a run of six consecutive state championships.

The game was close for three quarters, according to a Gwinnett Daily Post report from Macon, but Kendrick pulled away after that.

Wesleyan drew within four points late, but couldn't come all the way back.

β€œThis is a humbling experience,” junior Nikki McDonald told the Gwinnett Post.
