After Living Under a Bridge, Rescued Dogs Need Forever Home

Abandoned pets rescued but now looking for a permanent home.

Sweet Allie and her son, Sloan, were found wet, cold and shivering living underneath a county road bridge.

They had been abandoned by their owner, according to the county shelter officials. It was a terrifying experience for these two dogs, but even after being retrieved by animal control, their lives were still at risk.

The county animal shelter was, like most such shelters are, too full and this mom and son were facing euthanization. Fortunately, Angels Among Us Pet Rescue heard about their desperate plight and rescued them.

They are now safe and in a loving foster home...but still need to find their forever home.  Allie is a small to medium sized black and brown lab-beagle mix, and we estimate she is about one year old. Sloan is a border collie/lab/beagle mix and, at 13 pounds, is about three months old.

He has beautiful white and black coloring....and a white tipped tail! (He is absolutely adorable!) Allie is short-haired, and Sloan will probably be a medium haired dog.  Although different in appearance, they are both very sweet and very mellow.

They have been through so much together! Poor little Sloan is very scared and sticks to his mom like glue, rarely leaving her side. In turn, Allie is anxious when someone takes her little boy away from her, and only relaxes when he is returned.

We believe these behaviors were born of the extreme circumstances they found themselves in before they were rescued. Our vets believe these  behaviors will fade away as they learn to trust in a safe, warm, loving environment.  However, we were sure potential adopters will understand why we very much want to keep this little family together!

Both Allie and Sloan have been fully vetted, have been microchipped, and both have or will be spayed/neutered before being adopted into their forever homes.  They are a healthy, wonderful, loving, playful pair who long to have a family and children to love and play with – especially little Sloan.  Won’t you consider giving this lovely pair the forever home they so much deserve?
