Little Chihuahua Mix Ready For Adoption

By Elizabeth Hale

Meet little "Lisa Marie," a cute little Chihuahua mix.

She is approximately 2 years old, and weighs in at a whopping eight (8) pounds and has been spayed, is micro-chipped. Lisa Marie is almost completely house-trained, is crate-trained and up-to-date on all her shots and vetting.

This little girl has a very scary story to tell:  Lisa Marie was "red-lined" in the shelter where she was turned in, and was literally moments from being taken and walked down that long, dark hallway that smells of death and the end of life.  She was so grateful that an earthly angel from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue came and scooped her up just in the nick of time, and saved her life!

But her scary journey didn't end there.  As soon as the Angels volunteer got her to the vet's office to be checked out, this little girl was diagnosed with the deadly Parvo virus!  It is often deadly in small, young dogs and pups; however, our girl had been saved once, and she wasn't about to let this awful disease take away her second chance at a home and a family to love her!

She survived the awful case of Parvo and "thought" she was finally on her way to a new life - but, wouldn't you know it: in the middle of recovering from Parvo, this precious soul came down with a horrible case of pneumonia, almost passing away yet again!  It was a very "touch and go" situation for five days in the vet hospital, but it was in those awful days that Angels realized what a trooper and true fighter this little bundle of determination was - she fought harder than any little soul her medical staff had ever seen, and she WON!

She was determined that if someone loved her enough to save her life, then put so much time, money, prayers and support into giving her a second chance, that she was going to give it everything she had in her little body to survive and get that second chance!

And, miracles of miracles....she did! Now that she's all well again, this little bundle of joy truly loves to play - especially with other dogs!  She adores it when other dogs in her foster home "chase" her.  The funniest part is when she turns the tables on them, and chases them!  It's quite a sight to behold!  She also adores car rides, and doggie treats!

This funny girl is very "food motivated" and her foster used her love of yummy treats to easily teach her how to "sit" and "stay."  She's a very smart - especially when food is involved!  Lisa Marie is also great on a leash and loves, loves, loves going for walks with her foster mom.  One of the things this girl loves the most, though, is just being with her person.  While on the couch next to you or sleeping in the bed by your side, she adores being able to "touch" her human as she easily and quietly shares your space with you.

The best home for Lisa Marie would be a home without small children, since she is so tiny herself.  It would be ideal if the home also had another doggie for her to play with.  Lisa Marie is very loyal to her person(s) and will defend you, if needed.  This bundle of love and loyalty is tiny but she's ready to come to your aid, if needed.  The ideal new owner would be someone who either came home frequently during the day, or worked from home part/all of the day.

She has been through so much to have a new life - won't you reward her courage by considering making her a part of your home and family today? To find out more about Lisa Marie, you may contact her foster mom, Shelly, by email at shellygroves@wincup.com, or you may contact Angels Among Us directly by email at Inquiry@angelsrescue.org and ask for her by name: LISA MARIE.
