Personable Cat Looking for Permanent Home

Alfie's owner moved leaving him behind. This year-and-half old feline is ready for adoption.

Alfie is a TERRIFIC guy, with lots of personality and a huge amount of love to give to his new family! One of our volunteers took him in after a neighbor reported that Alfie's owner had moved away and left him behind.

Poor Alfie! The neighbor was not able to keep him herself (allergies), and was desperate to find someone to take him in so that she didn’t have to take him to her county’s animal shelter (where less than 25 percent of cats make it out…and most of those are kittens). So our Angels volunteer agreed to foster him until a “forever home” could be found. (Of course, first we took care of all his vet work, including testing for disease, neutering, vaccinating, and microchipping.)

We think Alfie is about one and a half years old. He is a BEAUTIFUL cat, and his photos just don’t do him justice. He has sleek fur with really interesting patterns of swirling brown and gray, offset by white markings. He’s an athletic cat, and guys seem to particularly like him.

Alfie is a cat who will make his presence known in his new home! He’s chockfull of personality and is 100 percent a “people” cat. (In fact, some would say he’s a bit like a little dog!) Alfie is a big talker and will let you know how he feels about things. He love to play, and often acts like a big overgrown kitten. What could be better??

Alfie’s foster home includes dogs, and he tolerates them well. His interactions with other cats is a little mixed: He does fine with several of them (generally the younger ones), but can be a bit of a bully with others. We think he would be fine as an only cat.

Although Alfie adores attention, we think he has been mistreated in the past. We have learned not to quickly reach for his head to pet him, because in those instances he cringes. He is getting much better about this as he learns no one is now going to be rough with him, and loves to be held and fussed over. He’s a great “buddy cat” to hang out with, and likes being a little couch potato with you when you’re watching TV or reading.

Alfie is a very tidy cat and good about using his litter box and scratching post.
