Pretty Layla Rescued From Shelter Needs a Home

Now all this 10-month old kitten needs is an understanding owner.

Angels Among Us Pet Rescue volunteers rescued Layla from the Fulton County Animal Shelter and were told that there was abuse in her past.

They first fell in love with her soft gray and white fur (very Russian Blue-like) and her beautiful green eyes. Then, they fell in love with Layla herself.

She clearly showed signs of a troubled past: This young cat (about 10 months old now) alternated between being extremely sweet and craving attention to getting crabby when she felt enough was enough with a human encounter. She did not do well at the group's PETCO adoption center, so she is now in a foster home with a quieter atmosphere.

Layla's foster mom has found out that Layla has an aversion to other cats, and that her temperamental moments almost always occur when another cat is around. During those times, she will growl a little and try to get away.

However, when she is the only cat in the room, she is like a different cat. During those times, she wants to constantly be with her human friends and continuously asks for attention. She has come a long way since her first few days with the organization, and the group's volunteers believe that this sad kitty with the difficult background will eventually make someone a very loving pet.

An ideal home would be with a person or persons who is experienced with cats and who does not have any other cats in the household. Layla is very fastidious and very consistent about using her litter box. She has been exposed to well-behaved dogs, and tolerates their presence.

Is there someone out there who will give this lovely cat another chance at a good life and teach her that humans can actually be nice to be around?

Like all of Angels' rescued cats, Layla has been altered and is up to date on vaccinations, has been tested for feline leukemia, feline AIDS and heartworm disease, has been provided parasite control treatment and is micro-chipped.
