Shrek and Fiona are Looking for a Happy Ending

Best buddies must be adopted together.

Handsome Shrek and beautiful Fiona thought their lives had taken a turn for the better, and were in what everyone had hoped was a forever home. Each of them had started out life in a county animal shelter, and were adopted when they were kittens by a loving family.

Sadly, the family’s youngest daughter developed severe allergies and a new situation for these cats was desperately needed. Angels cat volunteers stepped in, and these lovely felines are now officially part of the group’s adoption program.

Although Shrek and Fiona are not related, they have been raised together since they were at the shelter, and probably think they really are brother and sister. One way or another, they are best buddies, and cannot be split up.

Both cats are about 2 years old now. Fiona is a small cat with luxuriously long and thick hair the color of a bright orange sunset. She may be a Persian mix, and her beautiful coat will need to be brushed regularly by her new owner.

Shrek is bigger than Fiona, and is a domestic short hair cat with an apricot-orange colored coat.

Both cats have terrific personalities. They are super friendly once they are comfortable in their environment. They have done great in a local foster home, but are still a little scared at the group’s PETCO cat adoption center. (So much activity and so many new noises and smells!)

However, as soon as you gain their confidence there are lots of purrs and rubbing against your hand for more petting. They are exceptionally sweet and have never been the tiniest bit crabby with anyone.

Shrek is the most adventurous of the two, and is absolutely fascinated by the store’s parakeets kept in a nearby cage. (See photo where Shrek can’t figure out why the birds won’t come out and play.) Fiona loves to curl up on your lap and watch the rest of the world go by.

These kitties alternate between a foster home and Angels' Cat Adoption Center at the Johns Creek PETCO (10980 State Bridge Road). Like all of Angels' rescued cats, they are spayed (Fiona) and neutered (Shrek), are up to date on vaccinations, have been tested for feline leukemia, feline AIDS, and heartworm disease, have been provided parasite control treatment, and are microchipped. They are tidy cats and good about using their litter box.
