Sweet Andy Rescued From Shelter, Needs Forever Home

Affectionate feline would make a great family pet.

Chubby Andy wasn't getting a second look at the Fulton County shelter. Suffering from a severe flea dermatitis, he had lost quite a bit of the hair on his tail and back end. (This is one more reason to keep cats inside!)

Because of his hair loss, he wasn't even put in the adoption section. But we could tell that this was one great guy. He had clearly been someone's pet at some point, and was super, super sweet, even with the hubbub of the shelter going on around him.

About a month later, we can now see what a beautiful cat Andy is. His hair has grown almost all the way back in, and he is getting a thick and luxurious coat. More importantly, his foster mom says this is an exceptionally affectionate cat who seeks out attention and laps. He LOVES to be held! And his favorite thing is to watch TV with his foster mom. He loves to sleep with his people companion at night, and in the morning lets them know when it is time to get up by butting his head into them.

Andy does extremely well with other cats (he’s rather submissive with both males and females) and with dogs. He is very tidy and good about using his litter boxs. We think this would be a perfect cat for a family with kids and other pets…but he would also do well in a quieter environment.

Andy's eventual adopters will be very glad they gave this personable and super affectionate guy a second chance in a forever home. Sadly, he invariably watches as the young kittens get adopted...and he continues to look for his forever home. Are you the person or family who will appreciate a great guy like Andy?
