Time Magazine announced Wednesday that President Barack Obama was named 2012 Time Person of the Year. Obama beat out runner up Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager shot in the head by the Taliban for sticking to her principles for women’s rights. Obama also was Time Person of the Year in 2008. The last person to win the title twice was former President George W. Bush. Do you think Time Magazine got it right in naming President Barack Obama 2012 Time Person of the Year?

We've been inundated with news and commentary about President Barack Obama and Congress' struggle to find a point of compromise on the looming "fiscal cliff" issue. In a recent speech the president urges everyone to send a tweet to their congressmen to let them know they favor his middle class income tax cut program. And he took to Twitter on Monday to answer tweets from citizens with questions on his plan. Obama is the first president to use the social media to reach the masses. His latest message is posted on a website, Barack Obama, What Does $2,000 Mean to You. It's a simple question - he invites you to write back with a short message on the impact of an extra two grand would mean in your pocket rather than the government's coffers. …

Call it election-day fall out, but there is a movement afoot for Georgia and several other states to succeed from the union. Residents of Georgia have submitted a petition requesting that it be allowed to Peacefully grant the State of Georgia to Withdraw from the United States of America and create a NEW government. Other states have also filed to succeed from the union including residents of Alabama, New York, Michigan, Texas filing petitions under the "We The People" program, featured on the White House website. President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden were re-elected Tuesday night, defeating Republican challenger Mitt Romney and his vice-presidential running mate Rep. Paul Ryan, according to network projections. NBC News called the presidential election for Obama around 11:15 EST. Voters in Georgia on Tuesday cast their ballot for Mitt Romney, giving him the state's 16 Electoral votes, according to early results.
In a move that fell in line with expectations, Mitt Romney was projected to win Georgia’s 16 electoral votes on Tuesday, defeating Democrat Barack Obama. In the 2008 presidential election, the state voted for the Republican candidate, and since the 1990s has voted for the overall winner of the presidential race 3 out of 5 times. "Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama bin Laden," a made for TV movie about the killing of Osama bin Laden, was shown Sunday night on the National Georgraphic Channel. Some have said it was an attempt to aid President Barack Obama in his reelection bid. According to a story in Reuters, however, a TV executive rejected the claims. Although ackowledging that the proximity of the election was not lost on them, David Lyle, chief executive of National Georgraphic Channel, told Reuters that it was shown because it was thought to be of interest to viewers. In Gallup Poll's last election survey, Gov. Mitt Romney is leading by a slim margin at 49 percent to President Barack Obama's 48 percent. The final survey shows Romney with a 10 percent point lead among men (53 percent to 43 percent). Obama is leading by nearly the same margin among women (52 percent to 44 percent). "The two are roughly tied among independents -- 46 percent favor Obama and 45 percent Romney. Final days of presidential campaign shows neither President Barack Obama or Gov. Mitt Romney in the lead.
With only two days until Election Day 2012, it's clear that this presidential race is one of the tightest this country has ever experienced with neither President Barack Obama nor Gov. Mitt Romney with a strong lead. In a Sunday (Nov. 4) article, USA Today reports that it's just too close to call. "The average of polls compiled by the Real Clear Politics website gives Obama a lead of 0.2 percent in the popular vote -- 47.4% to 47.2%. That would leave 5.4% undecided." The problem isnt that he using social media to spread his message, the problem is he has no message! A president is supposed to lead. He should be in a conference room in the White House with leaders from the House and Senate hashing out a deal. He makes a proposal, they counter.
