Blue Devils DeShields Picked for USA Today High School Basketball Team
The Norcross High senior shooting guard is part of a 10-player national team.
The USA Today High School Sports Preseason American Family Insurance ALL-USA Girls High School Basketball Team has unveiled its 10 players, and two players are from Gwinnett County, including one from Norcross High. Diamond DeShields, a senior at Norcross and a 6-1 shooting guard, is the only returning player from the 2011-2012 team. Committed to the University of North Carolina, DeShields was named to the 2011 ALL-USA second team as a junior. She led her team to a 26-6 record and a state semi-final finish with an average of 21.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game last year.
