Who's gonna win North Gwinnett-Norcross, Brookwood-Archer and Grayson-Parkview, and 10 other games?

Game of the Week: Norcross at North Gwinnett Patch's reader-decided Gwinnett Game of the Week may go down as one of the best games of the season. It has everything you want in a big game: When it comes down to it, the winner will get the inside track to the region title, if preseason projections mean anything. North Gwinnett has been beaten Norcross four consecutive times, the last three times on its way to the region crown. Expect a close game, but with North having a week to rest and game-plan, and the uncertainty of Norcross star running back Alvin Kamara's ankle injury, it's hard to pick against the Bulldogs. Norcross vs. Parkview Football Game Recap

By Corey Richardson, assistant football coach for Norcross High School For the second year in a row, Norcross High School played on WSB's Thursday Night Football, and for the second year in a row they earned a victory.   On Thursday, Sept. 6, the Norcross Blue Devils beat the Parkview Panthers 20-0 on a stellar defensive effort. Key leaders on defense were Tommy Tate, Kevin Mouhon, Jahmal Jones, Jarmarcus Connally, Lorenzo Carter, Shon Akins and Jordan Noil.   Scoring for the Blue Devils started midway in the first quarter. Norcross scored on a 34-yard pass from Joseph Wilber to Trey Smith. With 21 seconds before half, Joseph Wilber then hit Myles Autry on a 4-yard pass for another touchdown. Norcross Shuts Out Parkview 20-0

Blue Devils' offense, defense controls the action to win their fifth game in a row over the Panthers.

Update: Friday, 9:15 a.m. Miles Autry scored two touchdowns, including a game-breaking punt return in the third quarter, to lift Norcross to a 20-0 win over Parkview Thursday at Norcross High. It was the fifth straight win over the Panthers for the Blue Devils, ranked No. 6 in the state in Class AAAAAA. Norcross improved to 2-0. Parkview, which has not scored a touchdown in two games, fell to 1-1. The game, which was telecast live by WSB-TV (Digital Channel 2.2), was the Gwinnett Game of the Week, as voted by Patch readers.   --Did you go to the game or watch it on TV? Blue Devils Scrimmage Game is This Friday

Norcross HS game tickets are on sale for $10.

Can't wait for football season to start? You're in luck. Norcross High School is celebrating its annual Blue & White Football Scrimmage this Friday, May 11. Taking place at the Blue Devils stadium, the 9th graders begin their game at 6 p.m. and the JV/Varisty will follow at 7 p.m.  Tickets go for $10, which includes entrance to the game, a meal at the concession stand and a chance at raffle prizes. The Norcross High Touchdown Club, the booster club for NHS football, is also asking for new members. There are multiple levels to choose from for the community, from Silver Seniors, Youth League and Alumni. Members can join at the Touchdown Club's website. Norcross Gets Rematch in First Round

The Blue Devils, who beat Mountain View 49-33 Friday night, are the No. 3 seed from Region 7-AAAAA.

The first-round opponent for Norcross in the Class AAAAA playoffs next week will be a familiar foe. The Blue Devils (8-2), who beat Mountain View 49-33 Friday night in their final regular-season game, will be the No. 3 seed from Region 7-AAAAA, and play at Dacula, the No. 2 seed from Region 8-AAAAA. It will be the second time the Blue Devils (8-2) will have faced the Falcons (7-3) this season. Norcross beat Dacula 35-7 in the season-opener on Aug. 18. The High School Coach's Football Honor Roll is In

Peachtree Corners Patch Football Honor Roll Top performers from last week: NORCROSS Alvin Kamara, running back: Rushed 14 times for 122 yards in a 41-14 loss at Peachtree Ridge. Tanner Maloof, linebacker: Had nine total tackles, two tackles for losses and one caused fumble. Isaiah Hinsley, defensive lineman: Eight tackles, three tackles for losses, one pass breakup. Martavius Edwards, defensive back: Six tackles, one pass breakup, one interception. Nathan Robinson, lineman: Was named the team’s scout offense player of the week. Note: Wesleyan was idle last week Football Honor Roll posts every Tuesday. Coaches can make nominations via email to Patch by noon Monday.

Norcross Players Presents 'Crimes of the Heart'

Norcross High School drama department puts on one-hour play Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct 18 and 19, 7:30 p.m.

If you like a little drama and comedy thrown in together than you won't want to miss the Norcross High School Drama Department's newest play, Crimes of the Heart. It's all about three sisters with quite different personalities and lives who reunite when the youngest of them, Babe, has just committed a major crime. The oldest sister, Lenny, takes care of their grandfather and is turning into an old maid, while Meg, who tries to make it in Hollywood as a singer/actress, has had a wild life filled with many adventures. Their reunion causes much joy, but also many tensions. Don't miss this tragic comedy, a one hour production with no intermission.

Blue Devils' Game Against N. Gwinnett on TV

Georgia Public Broadcasting will be on hand for the Region 7-AAAAA showdown.

This week's key Region 7-AAAAA game between North Gwinnett of Suwanee and homestanding Norcross will be televised by Georgia Public Broadcasting, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are ranked in the top 10 in the latest statewide poll. Norcross is unbeaten, and North Gwinnett's only loss was to top ranked McEachern in the season opener. Peachtree Corners Patch will also provide full coverage with photos, check back tonight after the game for our report.
